Florence Crittenton School Garden Ribbon Cutting & Community Open House
Join Florence Crittenton High School (FloCrit), SustainEd Farms (SEF), Denver Public Schools Office of Sustainability (DPS-FNS), Valverde Neighborhood Association (VNA), The Park People (TPP), University of Denver’s Center for Community Engagement to advance Scholarship and Learning (DU-CCESL), and additional community partners for the official launch of the new Florence Crittenton School Garden and Food Forest on Friday, May 29, 2026, in Valverde, Denver, Colorado.
This collaborative project, known as Gals Who Garden (GWG), was developed through partnerships between community organizations, Denver Public Schools, nonprofit leaders, public agencies, university partners, and neighborhood advocates working together to support youth well-being, environmental justice, food access, sustainability, and community resilience in the Valverde neighborhood.
Located at Florence Crittenton High School, the new garden and food forest will serve students, families, and the surrounding community through outdoor learning, nutrition education, environmental stewardship, wellness programming, and…
