About the event

Farm to Fridge

Denver School Garden Volunteer & Food Justice Event Series

Farm to Fridge is a new hands-on Denver volunteer event series connecting school gardens, food access, and community care across the city. Co-created by SustainEd Farms, Denver Community Fridges, and the DPS Foundation, this pilot series invites community members to directly experience Denver’s local food system, from harvest to redistribution to community connection.

Each Farm to Fridge event begins at a Denver Public Schools school garden, where volunteers work together to harvest fresh produce grown by students and school garden programs. From there, participants walk together to a nearby Denver Community Fridge site to help clean, organize, and restock the fridge with freshly harvested food. The experience concludes with a shared gathering at a local neighborhood business to reflect, connect, and build community.
